Oftentimes we tend to make things or cause things to be more difficult than they really are. We sometimes need to take a step back, take a breath and think…..
But, don’t over think things. Don’t get the paralyses of analyses. Don’t make it bigger than it is, if it is at all.
Sometimes, due to lack of knowledge, lack of knowing and lack of understanding we tend to think the worse. This is caused by our limited view of the situation or problem.
Let’s say, we have a horse that is doing things we don’t like or that could be considered bad or misbehaving. We want to work on the problem but with we don’t know where to begin. This is the lack of knowledge I was speaking about.
We ask our self, where am I going to begin to help solve this problem? Or, where am I going to look for help? I could begin reading and studying about horses, to start. This is a good thing to begin with. I could call a local person who may know what to do. Or, I could attend a camp, clinic, seminar or something in that order to help me begin on the right path.
Why in the world, would I want to attempt to fix something with my horse that I didn’t have a clue where to begin? I find myself beginning and beginning again when I could begin in the right place in the first place.
One thing we need to do is seek out like people to begin to help us. How much is too much to pay in getting the right help for you and your horse. You have made a huge investment in you and your horse, why not go a step farther in getting off on the right foot, so-to-speak or, getting back on track.
We need to get to a place where we can get help beginning to understand the horse first. How they learn, what makes them tick, what is important to them. The lack of understanding is the root of all kinds of problems and situations. This is what leads to many of our injuries.
With all this said, this is why we do what we do. That’s why we hold clinics; that’s why we have seminars; that’s why we have classes. To help you be safer around your horse; have a better understanding of your horse; to help you begin your relationship of trust and understanding with your horse.
To know where we are next or when we will be in your area or close to your area or how you may hold a clinic in your area, get in touch with us through this website www.JimSwanner.com. We look forward to working with you and helping you.
